The Alberta Self-Employed Farmer category is primarily suitable for applicants with some farm/agricultural management experience, the ability to purchase and manage a farm in Canada, and to engage in entry-level farm operations.

2. Application Requirements

  • Possess farm management skills, financial documentation of existing farm experience, education and training, work experience, a business plan, and a Canadian financial institution willing to finance your farm.

  • Sufficient financial capacity to maintain the farm's operation, with an investment of at least CAD 500,000, net assets of at least CAD 500,000, or equivalent funding obtained through other means.

  • Investment in a primary production farm business in Alberta, including the production of eggs, milk, grains, seeds, vegetables, fruits, honey, livestock, etc.


3. Required conditions:

Application submission → Agriculture Bureau assessment → Alberta Nominee Program assessment → Receive provincial nomination, submit PR application → Landing
